Dear Members, Friends and Supporters

Re: COMMUNITY SPORTS AND RECREATION FACILITIES AT BROYLE GATE FARM

Following the recent Planning Appeal decision to grant outline planning permission for the building of 100 houses (40% affordable) and extensive Community Sports and Recreation Facilities.

These facilities are to be built by Croudace and then offered to RACLT, free of charge, to hold on behalf of the Ringmer Community in perpetuity. Croudace will also provide a substantial maintenance fund (c.£1.3million) to cover future maintenance costs.

In order that RACLT can be in a position to take up this offer, we need to gather a lot of information regarding the nature of the facilities that would meet the needs of our community, so that we can develop robust plans for how we might manage and support these facilities. These are expected to include a 3G all weather pitch for football and rugby, cricket nets, tennis courts, outdoor gym and children’s play area.

The RACLT Board, therefore resolved at our AGM held on Tuesday 6th.December, to set up a Working Group as soon as possible to be lead by two of our Board Members David Terry and Gavin May, together with at least two other RACLT members.

I am now appealing to those of our members who have an interest in delivering these Sports and Recreation facilities, to put themselves forward to join the Working Group. You can do this by emailing myself at max.pengelley@gmail.com, giving your name, contact details and a short description of how you might help.

Because there is not much time to get going and we aim to meet with Croudace to initiate discussions in mid January, we would ask that you respond by Friday. 16th. December.

Thank you all for any help you can give on this very important project.

Max Pengelley
